Armenian parliament approved the draft law on "Local duty for parking transport means” in first reading today.
Mediamax reports that 72 MPs voted for approval of the draft law, 1 – against, and MPs from “Dashnaktsutiun” faction refrained from voting.
The draft law regulates the size of the duty, the ways and terms of payment, liability for refusal to pay.
The duty has effect on community areas, in particular, streets and squares. The communities will be the ones to select parking areas, as well as the size of the duties. The law provides for zones, in which paid parking will be banned, for instance in courtyards of residential buildings.
The maximum rate for one hour of parking will make AMD 500, for 24 hours – AMD 3 thousand, for a week – AMD 6 thousand, and for a month – AMD 30 thousand.
